EQUIPPING @ NOVAHOP

From the Old Testament to the present day, men and women have been zealously seeking the heart of God and have been praying into and walking out the plans of Heaven.  As a continuation of that legacy, we desire to glean wisdom and insight from those who have gone before us in order to understand what God is doing in our day and lay a firm foundation for the next generation.

CHILDREN'S EQUIPPING MINISTRY

We strongly believe in family - not only for our spiritual community, but also the literal family - fathers, mothers, children, siblings, cousins, etc. The family is an institution that precedes the church in the creative order, and in Malachi 4:5-6 we are charged with turning the hearts of the fathers to the children and the children to the fathers. Consequently, we focus on loving and bringing up the next generation. Family and children will no longer be a hindrance and nuisance to ministry and instead will be sown into and integrated into our pursuit of God.

Just as God called Samuel (among others) at a young age, we believe that our children are able to hear from the Lord and worship Him with their lives. As both parents and older brothers and sisters (both naturally and spiritually), we desire to help the youngest members of our family to learn the ways of the Lord (Prov. 22:6) and learn from their example. (Matt. 18:2-5, 1 Tim. 4:12)

MISSION

The Children’s Equipping Ministry (CEM) at the Northern Virginia House of Prayer (NOVAHOP) is dedicated to train, equip, and empower young people to walk in their identity as beloved sons and daughters of the Most High. The CEM focuses on providing students with sound biblical teaching, authentic community, and opportunities for ministry.

CLASSES

The NOVAHOP CEM consists of three age-group classes: 1) Pre-Kindergarten; 2) Elementary; 3) Middle & High. Each class is led by approximately 1-2 teachers that rotate teaching responsibilities. There are currently eight teachers on staff with the CEM.
